  • Christian church attack

Burkina Faso is mourning the loss of a veteran pastor and five members of a long-established AG church near the border of Mali. On Sunday, April 28, as many as a dozen gunmen on motorbikes attacked the church in the town of Sirgadji. They singled out Pastor Peter Ouédraogo and took five other men from the congregation, executing them after demanding they convert to Islam. Among the victims were Pastor Ouédraogo’s son and brother-in-law.

  • 10/40 window nation

Join me today in praying for the people of Saudi Arabia. This nation represents the heartbeat of Islam in the world, and yet there are signs of the gospel’s penetration. Among small communities of Christian believers, church growth is actually outpacing much of the world. Pray for a spiritual breakthrough and harvest.

  • Mission needs

Our regional commitment to proclaim the gospel among the Never Reached is powerfully illustrated by the nation of Japan. While we can talk about the “unsaved” or the “unreached” in parts of the world that have had a historic Christian presence, much of Asia Pacific has never been touched by the gospel since the birth of the Church. The small inroads of witness in Japan have barely made a dent among more than 120 million Japanese who remain bound by centuries of Buddhist and Shinto rituals.

  • Church fire

The terrible fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris has captured the world’s attention and sympathy. Would you join me in praying for the people of France? For many, Christianity is nothing more than a historic relic. While France mourns the damage done to a beloved national symbol, there is little awareness across the nation of the life-transforming faith in Christ that the church was built to proclaim more than 800 years ago. Pray that our international church network in Europe, our Secular Initiative, our refugee interventions, and other AG ministry centers and outreaches will be used of

  • Mission field needs

About 1.7 million people in Mozambique, another 920,000 in Malawi, and tens of thousands in Zimbabwe were in the path of Cyclone Idai this past week. Idai proved to be one of the most destructive storms to ever hit the coast of Africa. The Red Cross estimates about 400,000 people have been rendered homeless by flooding in central Mozambique, and has called the storm the “worst humanitarian crisis in Mozambique’s history.” More than 200 people are already confirmed dead, with many more of the missing believed to have lost their lives as well. In rural communities rescue and reporting can take weeks to establish the true scale of this kind of emergency. Please pray with me for these nations in Southern Africa.

  • Healing

With more than 2,700 missionaries and hundreds of missionary associates in ministry around the world, at any one time we have dozens of urgent requests for God’s intervention in critical health issues. Friends, you can imagine the additional strain when someone is carrying a heavy ministry load in a remote region and then must deal with a sudden illness, a life-threatening cancer, or even a critical surgery. Please join us in interceding for our worldwide missionary family, and believe with me that the Great Physician will turn these situations around.
